In doing so, it will be\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2019-05-08\/fox-corp-buys-4-99-of-stars-group-starts-gambling-platform\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">starting its own sports wagering platform<\/a>, a major step for a U.S. sports broadcaster.<\/li><li>And in December, mobile sports app theScore\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/zackjones\/2018\/12\/18\/thescore-to-become-first-media-company-to-offer-online-mobile-sports-betting-in-north-america\/#c27acd73e8ed\" target=\"_blank\">announced<\/a>\u00a0that it planned to launch its own mobile sports book, beginning in New Jersey.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Between the lines<\/strong>: Other TV networks with sports broadcast rights are taking a more cautious approach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[ <a href=\"https:\/\/www.france24.com\/en\/20190609-historic-first-g20-weighs-ageing-global-risk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"continue reading at Axios (opens in a new tab)\">continue reading at Axios<\/a> ]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>from Axios 1 big thing: Media companies wade into betting By\u00a0Sara Fischer The legalization of sports betting has opened up new business opportunities, and ethical challenges, for some of America&#8217;s biggest media companies.
