Meech et al.\/ESO)<\/p>\n<div class=\"credit\">\n<div class=\"credit\">\n<p>The first meteor to hit Earth from interstellar space \u2014\u00a0and the second known interstellar visitor overall \u2014 may have just been discovered, a new study finds.<\/p>\n<p>Interstellar meteors may be common, and could potentially <a href=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/42350-life-hitch-ride-interstellar-visitors-oumuamua.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-track-type=\"click\" data-index=\"1\" data-component=\"Inline links\" data-count=\"13\"><u>help life travel from star to star<\/u><\/a>, researchers added.<\/p>\n<p>The first known visitor from interstellar space, a cigar-shaped object <a href=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/interstellar-objects-oumuamua-planet-growth.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-track-type=\"click\" data-index=\"2\" data-component=\"Inline links\" data-count=\"13\"><u>named &#8216;Oumuamua<\/u><\/a>, was detected in 2017.
