Courtesy of Tacotopia.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The pop-up museum trend shows no sign of dying out as the latest Instagram trap is set to touch down in Austin, Texas, just in time for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sxsw.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">SXSW<\/a> film, music, and media festival, which runs from March 8 to 16. It\u2019s called <a href=\"https:\/\/atacotopia.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tacotopia<\/a>, and it\u2019s already threatening to go on a six-city tour to New York, Los Angeles, Miami, Chicago, and Scottsdale, Arizona.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe exhibit is part of a larger movement encompassing interactive and experiential art,\u201d the press release helpfully points out for anyone who\u2019s been hiding under a rock since Refinery29\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/news.artnet.com\/exhibitions\/29rooms-brooklyn-2018-1345340\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">29 Rooms<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/news.artnet.com\/exhibitions\/the-museum-of-ice-cream-fails-to-put-the-cherry-on-the-art-basel-in-miami-beach-sundae-1174202\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Museum of Ice Cream<\/a> ushered in <a href=\"https:\/\/news.artnet.com\/art-world\/the-children-of-the-museum-of-ice-cream-1258058\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">this strange new age of ball pits<\/a> and thematic odes to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/news.artnet.com\/art-world\/the-cado-1268687\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">avocados<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/news.artnet.com\/exhibitions\/dream-machine-review-1313972\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">dreams<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/news.artnet.com\/art-world\/lady-thing-feminist-art-experience-1325123\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">feminism<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/news.artnet.com\/exhibitions\/brooklyns-museum-of-pizza-is-now-open-and-its-cheesy-1371946\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">pizza<\/a>, and ros\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>But this particular iteration doesn\u2019t even pretend it\u2019s there for anything more than to \u201cdeliver true Instagrammable goals\u201d via larger-than-life immersive installations, according to its website. It will include such attractions as a foam pico de gallo ball pit, a \u201cSe\u00f1orita Needs a Margarita\u201d lime swing, and a staircase leading to \u201cChurro Heaven.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It all feels vaguely sacrilegious: the jumping off point for the whole affair is a character dubbed the\u00a0Goddess of\u00a0<span class=\"il\">Tacos, a cross between the<\/span>\u00a0Zapotec Goddess of Life and\u00a0Ushnishavijaya, the Buddha Goddess of a Long Life.
