He was 76.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-1ygdjhk evys1bk0\">His manager, Lee Kernis, said the cause was cancer.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-1ygdjhk evys1bk0\">Mr. Einstein played <a class=\"css-1g7m0tk\" title=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=3o5m_mXadoU\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Marty Funkhouser<\/a>, Mr. David\u2019s pal and occasional antagonist, on \u201cCurb Your Enthusiasm,\u201d the long-running fictionalized version of Mr. David\u2019s life on HBO. Mr. Einstein\u2019s health precluded him from working on the series\u2019 10th season, which is now in production.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-1ygdjhk evys1bk0\">\u201cNever have I seen an actor enjoy a role the way Bob did playing Marty Funkhouser on \u2018Curb,\u2019 \u201d Mr. David said in a statement.
