Moreover, it is Steffens\u2019s avidity and accuracy that allow readers to \u201creally know the man\u201d as Steffens did when he toured with Marley, subsequently devoting his life to safeguarding his legacy. Jamaican poet laureate <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lintonkwesijohnson.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Linton Kwesi Johnson<\/a> writes in his introduction to Steffens\u2019s oeuvre, that Steffens shows \u201chow serious Marley was about his art: his single-mindedness and his consummate professionalism.\u201d Steffens\u2019s book exudes those same qualities.<\/p>\n<p>On July 29, 2017, Steffens blessed me with a return invitation to the Reggae Archives to interview him. The topics we discussed included what got him interested in reggae; how his passion for the music developed; <i>The New Yorker\u2019s<\/i>review of his new book; the book\u2019s main dramas and themes; and finally, Steffens\u2019s hopes for \u201cSo Much Things to Say\u201d\u2019s enduring legacy.
