The numbers relate to different archaeological features. <span class=\"media-credit\">\u00a9 The Danish-German Jerash Northwest Quarter Project<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p>The eruption of Mount Vesuvius at Pompeii in 79 A.D. isn\u2019t the only example of life in the ancient world being preserved by the aftermath of a natural disaster.
