But he\u2019s still not done waiting for the world to give him his due.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>by\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.vanityfair.com\/contributor\/darryn-king\" target=\"_blank\">DARRYN KING<\/a><br \/>\nPhotographs by\u00a0<a class=\"author contributor__author-link\" href=\"http:\/\/www.vanityfair.com\/contributor\/grant-harder\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"author\" data-reactid=\"210\">GRANT HARDER<\/a><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/VT1J65KHX8E\" width=\"480\" height=\"270\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p data-reactid=\"214\">In a small, cold film studio in early 2016, the man known by the Internet as the \u201cworst director in the world\u201d was doing what he does, well, worst.<\/p>\n<p data-reactid=\"215\">\u201cO.K., one more time,\u201d said <strong>Uwe Boll<\/strong> (his first name is pronounced \u201cOO-vah\u201d), feeding lines to one of the actors in the absence of a script. \u201cStraight in the lens: \u2018. . . has been killed. By the law . . . er . . . the law enforcement? Has been shot by law enforcement.\u2019 Yes. O.K., do it. Ready, and . . . Action!\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-reactid=\"216\">\u201cThis is the worst-looking set,\u201d assistant director <strong>Michael Pohorly\u00a0<\/strong>admitted between takes. \u201cThe budget on this set was . . . nothing. Twenty dollars for a lick of paint? It\u2019s a $20 set.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-reactid=\"217\">Ridge Studios, a former bingoplex in suburban Maple Ridge, Vancouver, had recently accommodated shoots for the Hallmark Channel specials <em>Family for Christmas<\/em> and <em>Angel of Christmas,<\/em> a 2016 <em>Kindergarten Cop<\/em>sequel, and the family comedy-drama series <em>Date My Dad.<\/em> This time last year it was home to <em>Rampage: President Down,<\/em> the 30th and, for now, final film by Boll.
