The project<\/p>\n<p><a id=\"auto-tag_syfy\" href=\"http:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/syfy\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-tag=\"syfy\">Syfy<\/a>\u00a0is stepping up its development efforts with three\u00a0pilot orders to artificial intelligence drama\u00a0<em><a id=\"auto-tag_the-machine\" href=\"http:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/the-machine\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-tag=\"the-machine\">The Machine<\/a><\/em>, based on the 2013 cult hit film; supernatural horror-drama\u00a0<em>Haunted;<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0<em><a id=\"auto-tag_happy\" href=\"http:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/happy\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-tag=\"happy\">Happy<\/a>!\u00a0<\/em>based on Grant Morrison and Darick Robertson\u2019s graphic novel. All three hail from sibling Universal Cable Prods.<\/p>\n<p>After several straight-to-series orders, Syfy returned to pilot development this year with the pilot greenlights of\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/deadline.com\/2016\/02\/syfy-pilot-prototype-1201701541\/\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Prototype<\/em>\u00a0in February<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/deadline.com\/2016\/05\/superman-prequel-krypton-syfy-pilot-order-david-goyer-showrunner-director-1201741635\/\" target=\"_blank\">Superman prequel\u00a0<em>Krypton\u00a0<\/em><\/a>in May. The former was filmed and not going forward, while the latter is currently casting. Today\u2019s pickups\u00a0mark the largest batch of pilot orders for Syfy in a while as the network had been going through a creative revamp.<\/p>\n<p><em><a id=\"auto-tag_the-haunted\" href=\"http:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/the-haunted\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-tag=\"the-haunted\">The Haunted<\/a><\/em>\u00a0is a supernatural horror-drama about four siblings who reunite following their parents\u2019 deaths. As they try to overcome their fractured personal relationships they find that they must also face the literal ghosts from their past in order to survive. Noga Landau (<em>Tau, The Magicians<\/em>) wrote the pilot and is also a co-executive producer.
