In analysing the central fresco, The Creation of Eve, a team led by Deivis de Campos of the UFCSPA in Brazil claims there are several representations of female anatomy the artist likely concealed, potentially as a subversive act and to hide his knowledge of anatomy through dissection.<\/p>\n<p>In their study,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/onlinelibrary.wiley.com\/wol1\/doi\/10.1002\/ca.22764\/abstract\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">published in the journal Clinical Anatomy<\/a>, the team notes that much Renaissance art contains an inner meaning \u2013 including animals depicted, positions of characters and juxtapositions. Michelangelo, as an anatomist, may have felt the need to conceal elements of his paintings via symbols.<\/p>\n<p>The team used imaging software to analyse the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ibtimes.co.uk\/vatican-high-tech-air-conditioner-combats-sweaty-tourist-damage-sistine-chapel-1472921\" target=\"_blank\">ceiling of the Sistine Chapel<\/a>\u00a0to look for representations of human anatomy.
