British singer Ed Harcourt scoring ‘Donnie Darko’ sequel<\/h1>\n

Ed Harcourt<\/a>\u00a0will provide the score for the forthcoming\u00a0Donnie Darko<\/em>\u00a0sequel,<\/a>\u00a0S. Darko.\u00a0<\/em>The British singer-songwriter told EW.com at LA’s Roxy last week, where he opened up for the Greg Dulli-Mark Lanegan fronted n\u00fc-gaze outfit,\u00a0The Gutter Twins<\/a>, that while he never met director Chris Fisher, he submitted three pieces of music for consideration after reading the script, and was delighted \u2014 if not a little surprised \u2014 to learn that he got the gig. The movie is slated for release in 2009, but Harcourt is already hard at work on a variety of soundscapes influenced by the music of\u00a0Autechre,<\/a>\u00a0Aphex Twin,\u00a0Phillip Glass<\/a>, and Estonian composer\u00a0Arvo P\u00e4rt<\/a>. His goal: to make it “surreal and psychedelic, just like the movie.”<\/span><\/p>\n
