Actor Ken Howard Dies at 71<\/h1>\n

Ken Howard, best known for his groundbreaking CBS drama\u00a0The White Shadow<\/em>, is dead at 71.<\/p>\n

The Tony and Emmy Award winner also starred as Thomas Jefferson in the 1972 film\u00a01776<\/em>, was featured in the 1995\u00a0Sandra Bullock<\/a>\u00a0thriller\u00a0The Net<\/em><\/a>, and guest-starred as\u00a0Kabletown CEO Hank Hooper<\/a>\u00a0on\u00a030 Rock<\/em><\/a>. Just last year, he appeared in\u00a0Kevin Hart<\/a>‘s\u00a0The Wedding Ringer<\/em><\/a>\u00a0and the\u00a0Jennifer Lawrence<\/a>\u00a0hit\u00a0Joy<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Howard was elected president of the Screen Actor’s Guild in 2009 and was a guiding force in the union’s 2012 merger with the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists. He was elected co-president upon the merger. In 2013, became the first elected president of SAG-AFTRA and was reelected in 2015.<\/p>\n
