The best-known group involved,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2012\/03\/05\/technology\/the-bright-side-of-being-hacked.html?ref=topics&amp;_r=0\" target=\"_blank\">the shadowy collective Anonymous<\/a>, has\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?time_continue=48&amp;v=ZfyVVLGWivo\" target=\"_blank\">claimed<\/a>\u00a0to have helped take down as many as 20,000 Twitter accounts since the attacks.<\/p>\n<p>On Twitter and on the website\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/pastebin.com\/jB2UdByq\" target=\"_blank\">Pastebin<\/a>,\u00a0<a class=\"meta-org\" title=\"More articles about Anonymous (Internet Group).\" href=\"http:\/\/topics.nytimes.com\/top\/reference\/timestopics\/organizations\/a\/anonymous_internet_group\/index.html?inline=nyt-org\" target=\"_blank\">Anonymous<\/a>\u00a0has issued a rallying cry.<\/p>\n<p>The group also has an extensive how-to list for anyone interested in taking\u00a0<a class=\"meta-org\" title=\"More articles about the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria.\" href=\"http:\/\/topics.nytimes.com\/top\/reference\/timestopics\/organizations\/a\/al_qaeda_in_mesopotamia\/index.html?inline=nyt-org\" target=\"_blank\">ISIS<\/a>\u00a0offline.
