{"id":6988,"date":"2015-11-24T13:01:36","date_gmt":"2015-11-24T20:01:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/BigJimIndustries.com\/wordpress\/?p=6988"},"modified":"2015-11-30T13:09:55","modified_gmt":"2015-11-30T20:09:55","slug":"paris-aime-toujours-hemingway","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bigjimindustries.com\/wordpress\/2015\/11\/24\/paris-aime-toujours-hemingway\/","title":{"rendered":"Paris aime toujours Hemingway"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.france24.com\/en\/20151124-france-earnest-hemingway-moveable-feast-sales-soar-after-paris-attacks\" target=\"_blank\">from FRANCE 24<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n<h1>Sales of Hemingway\u2019s \u2018A Moveable Feast\u2019 surge after Paris attacks<\/h1>\n<p>by\u00a0<a class=\"modeless\" title=\"Rachel HOLMAN\" href=\"http:\/\/www.france24.com\/en\/author\/rachel-holman\/\" target=\"_blank\">Rachel HOLMAN<\/a><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/scd.france24.com\/en\/files\/imagecache\/france24_ct_api_bigger_169\/article\/image\/24112015%20paris%20est%20une%20fete%20hemingway_0.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=480 height=auto \/><em>\u00a9 Patrick Kovarik, AFP<\/em><\/p>\n<p>In the wake of the November 13 Paris attacks, Ernest Hemingway\u2019s \u201cA Moveable Feast\u201d has become a symbol of life in the French capital, climbing to the top of bestseller lists as it flies off the shelves of bookstores across France.<\/p>\n<p>Published posthumously in 1964, \u201cA Moveable Feast\u201d is a memoir of Hemingway\u2019s experiences living in Paris during the 1920s.<\/p>\n<p>In the shocked aftermath of\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.france24.com\/en\/tag\/paris-attacks\/\" target=\"_blank\">the November 13 attacks<\/a>, which killed 130 people, copies of the book have been placed among the flowers and candles at makeshift memorials across the city.<\/p>\n<p>The book\u2019s sudden revival has been partly attributed to a woman known as \u201cGrandma\u201d Danielle, who evoked the tome during\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.bfmtv.com\/societe\/desfleurspourdanielle-la-mamie-qui-fait-du-bien-930814.html\" target=\"_blank\">an interview with France\u2019s BFM TV<\/a>\u00a0at a memorial outside of the Bataclan concert hall days after the attacks.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s very important to bring flowers to our dead, it\u2019s very important to read Hemingway\u2019s book \u2018A Moveable Feast\u2019 over and over again,\u201d said the woman who was only identified by her first name. \u201cWe are an ancient civilisation and we will uphold our values.
