Amazon Prime Acquires USA’s ‘Mr. Robot’<\/h1>\n

USA’s hacker drama\u00a0Mr. Robot<\/em>\u00a0is headed to Amazon.<\/p>\n

The company has acquired Universal Cable Production’s first-year critical darling, it was announced Friday.<\/p>\n

Under the pact, Amazon Prime will become the exclusive subscription streaming home for\u00a0Mr. Robot<\/em>\u00a0beginning this spring. All 10 episodes of the series will be available for Amazon Prime members in the U.S., U.K., Germany, Austria and Japan.<\/p>\n

From creator\u00a0Sam Esmail<\/strong>,\u00a0Mr. Robot<\/em>\u00a0stars\u00a0Rami Malek<\/strong>\u00a0as an antisocial hacker hoping to overthrow society and\u00a0Christian Slater<\/strong>\u00a0as the leader of the hacker group hoping to help him to do just that.<\/p>\n

“Mr. Robot\u00a0<\/em>is one the most compelling new dramas on television,” said Amazon vp\u00a0digital video content acquisition\u00a0Brad Beale<\/strong>\u00a0in a statement. “Rami Malek delivers a mesmerizing performance and leads a great cast with an intriguing story full of dark twists. Prime members are going to love binging on this awesome show.”<\/p>\n

This marks the latest deal between UCP and Amazon Prime, which is also home to Syfy’s\u00a0Defiance<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Warehouse 13<\/em>\u00a0as well as USA’s own\u00a0Suits<\/em>.<\/p>\n
