In an interview with\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.thesun.co.uk\/sol\/homepage\/news\/5087255\/dentist-wants-to-clone-lennon.html\" target=\"_blank\">The Sun<\/a>, Canadian dentist Michael Zuk announced his intentions to extract and sequence the late Beatle\u2019s\u00a0DNA\u00a0from his molar, a tooth that has become the most, erm, sought-after dental relic in rock music.<\/p>\n<p>You may recall a peculiar enough story from a couple years ago, in which the dentist and avid tooth collector\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/news\/john-lennons-tooth-sells-for-more-than-31-000-at-auction-20111106\" target=\"_blank\">paid over $30,000<\/a>\u00a0at auction for Lennon\u2019s molar. The fabled tooth had been passed along for decades prior to Mr. Zuk\u2019s purchase, first as a memento in the hands of Lennon\u2019s housekeeper and later as an artifact resigned to the dreary existence of making publicity appearances at charity events.
