\u201cJersey Shore\u2019 star Snooki came face to gut with one of her largest critics Friday: New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie.<\/p>\n

The awkward encounter occurred \u2014 where else? \u2014 on the boardwalk in Seaside Heights, where the Jersey icons were filming separate segments for NBC\u2019s \u201cToday\u201d show.<\/p>\n

\u201cI just wanted to meet you and just hope you start to like us,\u201d said Snooki, ice-grilling the governor.<\/p>\n

\u201cWell, we\u2019ll do our best,\u201d Christie responded in a moment captured on video by the Asbury Park Press.<\/p>\n

The loud-mouthed diva also asked the girthy gov, \u201cWhy are you standing so close to me?\u201d<\/p>\n
