Angus King, I-Maine, wants a caucus for senators with facial hair, the American Mustache Institute is pushing King to make good on his recent comment.<\/p>\n<p>National Journal\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nationaljournal.com\/member\/magazine\/angus-king-mulls-a-facial-hair-caucus-20130228\" target=\"_blank\">reported last week<\/a>\u00a0that King is mulling the notion of a facial hair caucus. \u201cMaybe that can be the beginning to solving the sequestration,\u201d King was quoted as saying.<\/p>\n<p>Now, the American Mustache Institute,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.theatlantic.com\/entertainment\/archive\/2010\/09\/state-of-the-stache-an-interview-with-mustache-chairman-aaron-perlut\/63486\/\" target=\"_blank\">brainchild<\/a>\u00a0of St. Louis-based marketing consultant and<a href=\"http:\/\/www.forbes.com\/fdc\/welcome_mjx.shtml\">occasional Forbes columnist<\/a>\u00a0Aaron Perlut, has issued an\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.americanmustacheinstitute.org\/blog\/2013\/03\/an-open-letter-to-senator-angus-king-of-maine\/\" target=\"_blank\">open letter to King<\/a>\u00a0calling on him to make this probably nonserious aside a reality, writing:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Indeed, in spite of our trepidation about creating a segregated environment on Capital Hill \u2014 ruggedly handsome Senators and Congressmen living a sexually dynamic Mustached Americans sitting in separate rooms from the clean-shaven mortals who fail to reach your level of intellectual excellence \u2014 the American Mustache Institute and Mustached American Community at-large welcome plans for the new caucus to represent the interests of all Americans with facial hair.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>[ <a href=\"http:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/blogs\/politics\/2013\/03\/american-mustache-institute-pushes-for-congressional-facial-hair-caucus\/\" target=\"_blank\">click to continue reading at ABC News<\/a> ]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>from ABC News American Mustache Institute Pushes for Congressional Facial-Hair Caucus By\u00a0Chris Good Spurred by a whiff of news that Sen.
