He defeated six dogs, one a Portuguese water dog on the same night that\u00a0<a title=\"More about Bo.\" href=\"http:\/\/topics.nytimes.com\/top\/reference\/timestopics\/subjects\/p\/presidents_and_presidency_us\/pets\/bo_dog\/index.html?inline=nyt-classifier\" target=\"_blank\">Bo<\/a>, who is the same breed, watched his master, President Obama, deliver the\u00a0<a title=\"More articles about the State of the Union address.\" href=\"http:\/\/topics.nytimes.com\/top\/reference\/timestopics\/subjects\/s\/state_of_the_union_message_us\/index.html?inline=nyt-classifier\" target=\"_blank\">State of the Union address<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019s won a lot of big, big shows, but none like this one,\u201d said his handler, Ernesto Lara, who held onto Joey, as he calls him, during a postshow news conference.<\/p>\n<p>Joey sat calmly, as if he could have gone back onto the floor of Madison Square Garden and taken on his challengers again.
