{"id":3337,"date":"2012-03-28T10:50:52","date_gmt":"2012-03-28T17:50:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/bigjimindustries.com\/wordpress\/index.php\/2012\/03\/number-four-joins-battle-of-the-books\/"},"modified":"2012-03-30T11:03:00","modified_gmt":"2012-03-30T18:03:00","slug":"number-four-joins-battle-of-the-books","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bigjimindustries.com\/wordpress\/2012\/03\/28\/number-four-joins-battle-of-the-books\/","title":{"rendered":"NUMBER FOUR Joins Battle Of The Books"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.leesburg2day.com\/news\/schools\/article_c5289420-79ce-11e1-8a4e-0019bb2963f4.html\" target=\"_blank\">from Leesburg Today<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n<h1>Six Schools Advance In Battle Of The Books<\/h1>\n<p>It was a battle of book lovers Thursday morning, as Loudoun high school students competed in the 7th Annual Battle of the Books Semi-Finals.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/bloximages.chicago2.vip.townnews.com\/leesburg2day.com\/content\/tncms\/assets\/v3\/editorial\/f\/48\/f487e7d6-79d1-11e1-890a-0019bb2963f4\/4f74b25ac12b5.preview-300.jpg\" style=\"margin-left: 10px\" border=\"0\" width=\"240\" height=\"150\" align=\"right\" \/>High school teams were broken into three divisions, with Potomac Falls High School hosting the eastern competition; Stone Bridge High School the host site for the central competition; and Tuscarora High School hosting the western schools. Potomac Falls, Dominion, Broad Run and Park View competed in the eastern semi-finals; Stone Bridge, Briar Woods and Freedom in the central semis; and Tuscarora, Douglass School, Loudoun County, Loudoun Valley and Woodgrove in the west.<\/p>\n<p>Students from the competing teams were asked questions from a selection of books. A certain amount of points were given for each correct answer. Five rounds consisted of 10 questions each.<\/p>\n<p>The books in the battle were:\u00a0<em>The Alchemyst<\/em>\u00a0by Michael Scott;\u00a0<em>Chasing Lincoln&#8217;s Killer<\/em>\u00a0by James Swanson;\u00a0<em>Half Brother<\/em>\u00a0by Kenneth Oppel;\u00a0<em>The Help<\/em>\u00a0by Kathryn Stockett;\u00a0<em>The Heretic&#8217;s Daughter<\/em>\u00a0by Kathleen Kent;\u00a0<em>I Am Number Four<\/em>\u00a0by Pittacus Lore;\u00a0<em>Knights of the Hill Country<\/em>\u00a0by Tim Tharp;\u00a0<em>Morpheus Road, The Light<\/em>\u00a0by D.J.
