You will never appreciate Lewis Carroll as much after reading this novel.<\/font><\/p>\n<p><font color=\"#000000\" class=\"Apple-style-span\"> <\/font><font color=\"#000000\" class=\"Apple-style-span\">2-<\/font><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.ca\/Country-Old-Men-Cormac-McCarthy\/dp\/0375706674\/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&amp;s=books&amp;qid=1289999944&amp;sr=1-1\" target=\"_blank\" style=\"font-family: Verdana, Geneva, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; text-decoration: underline\"><font color=\"#000000\" class=\"Apple-style-span\">Anton Chigurh from Cormac McCarthy&#8217;s No Country For Old Men<\/font><\/a><font color=\"#000000\" class=\"Apple-style-span\">: Perhaps the fact that he&#8217;s so scary lies in that he&#8217;s the idea of evil, more than an evil character himself. He doesn&#8217;t even seem real in the story. He&#8217;s like a vengeful ghost.<\/font><\/p>\n<p><font color=\"#000000\" class=\"Apple-style-span\"> <\/font><font color=\"#000000\" class=\"Apple-style-span\">3-<\/font><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.ca\/Strong-Motion-Novel-Jonathan-Franzen\/dp\/031242051X\/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&amp;qid=1289999062&amp;sr=8-1\" target=\"_blank\" style=\"font-family: Verdana, Geneva, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; text-decoration: underline\"><font color=\"#000000\" class=\"Apple-style-span\">Melanie Holland from Jonathan Franzen&#8217;s Strong Motion<\/font><\/a><font color=\"#000000\" class=\"Apple-style-span\">: I have rarely felt that irritated reading a novel. Mrs. Holland also wins the prize of literature&#8217;s worse mother. And like the perfect vilain, it&#8217;s not totally her fault.<\/font><\/p>\n<p><font color=\"#000000\" class=\"Apple-style-span\"> <\/font><font color=\"#000000\" class=\"Apple-style-span\">4-<\/font><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.ca\/Strange-Case-Dr-Jekyll-Hyde\/dp\/0486266885\/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&amp;s=books&amp;qid=1289999217&amp;sr=1-1\" target=\"_blank\" style=\"font-family: Verdana, Geneva, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; text-decoration: underline\"><font color=\"#000000\" class=\"Apple-style-span\">Edward Hyde from Robert Louis Stevenson&#8217;s Strange Case Of Dr. Jekyll &amp; Mr. Hyde<\/font><\/a><font color=\"#000000\" class=\"Apple-style-span\">: Do I really have to justify myself here?<\/font><\/p>\n<p><font color=\"#000000\" class=\"Apple-style-span\"> <\/font><font color=\"#000000\" class=\"Apple-style-span\">5-<\/font><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.ca\/Cold-Blood-Truman-Capote\/dp\/0679745580\/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&amp;s=books&amp;qid=1289999357&amp;sr=1-1\" target=\"_blank\" style=\"font-family: Verdana, Geneva, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; text-decoration: underline\"><font color=\"#000000\" class=\"Apple-style-span\">Perry Smith from Truman Capote&#8217;s In Cold Blood<\/font><\/a><font color=\"#000000\" class=\"Apple-style-span\">: I will pull the James Frey card and say Smith is a character because Capote wrote him. There&#8217;s nothing more disturbing than a bad guy you can&#8217;t really hate.<\/font><\/p>\n<p><font color=\"#000000\" class=\"Apple-style-span\"> <\/font><font color=\"#000000\" class=\"Apple-style-span\">6-<\/font><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.ca\/Long-Walk-Stephen-King\/dp\/0451196716\/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&amp;s=books&amp;qid=1289999480&amp;sr=1-1\" target=\"_blank\" style=\"font-family: Verdana, Geneva, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; text-decoration: underline\"><font color=\"#000000\" class=\"Apple-style-span\">Stebbins from Stephen King&#8217;s Long Walk<\/font><\/a><font color=\"#000000\" class=\"Apple-style-span\">: King makes you develop an obsession about him at the same pace his character Ray Garraty does. Stebbins is like that kind in elementary school who thinks he does things better than everybody else.<\/font><\/p>\n<p><font color=\"#000000\" class=\"Apple-style-span\"> <\/font><font color=\"#000000\" class=\"Apple-style-span\">7-<\/font><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.ca\/American-Psycho-Bret-Easton-Ellis\/dp\/0679735771\/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&amp;s=books&amp;qid=1289999785&amp;sr=1-1\" target=\"_blank\" style=\"font-family: Verdana, Geneva, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; text-decoration: underline\"><font color=\"#000000\" class=\"Apple-style-span\">Patrick Bateman in Brett Easton Ellis&#8217; American Psycho<\/font><\/a><font color=\"#000000\" class=\"Apple-style-span\">: I&#8217;m not completely in love with that book, but Bateman is so hollow he will resonate within you. That&#8217;s quite the accomplishment.<\/font><\/p>\n<p><font color=\"#000000\" class=\"Apple-style-span\"> <\/font><font color=\"#000000\" class=\"Apple-style-span\">8-<\/font><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.ca\/2001-Space-Odyssey-Arthur-Clarke\/dp\/0451457994\/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&amp;s=books&amp;qid=1290000060&amp;sr=1-1\" target=\"_blank\" style=\"font-family: Verdana, Geneva, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; text-decoration: underline\"><font color=\"#000000\" class=\"Apple-style-span\">HAL-9000 from Arthur C. Clarke&#8217;s 2001:A Space Odyssey<\/font><\/a><font color=\"#000000\" class=\"Apple-style-span\">: Those who saw the movie will know what I&#8217;m talking about. A talking computer is cute. A talking computer who plots to kill you in deep space is another ball game.<\/font><\/p>\n<p><font color=\"#000000\" class=\"Apple-style-span\"> <\/font><font color=\"#000000\" class=\"Apple-style-span\">9-<\/font><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.ca\/Blood-Meridian-Evening-Redness-West\/dp\/0679728759\/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&amp;s=books&amp;qid=1290000174&amp;sr=1-1\" target=\"_blank\" style=\"font-family: Verdana, Geneva, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; text-decoration: underline\"><font color=\"#000000\" class=\"Apple-style-span\">Judge Holden from Cormac McCarthy&#8217;s Blood Meridian<\/font><\/a><font color=\"#000000\" class=\"Apple-style-span\">: Apparently, McCarthy has a terrific knack for villains. This one is as terrifying as Chigurh but he&#8217;s so over-the-top that it&#8217;s hard to lend him as much credibility.<\/font><\/p>\n<p><font color=\"#000000\" class=\"Apple-style-span\"> <\/font><font color=\"#000000\" class=\"Apple-style-span\">10-<\/font><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.ca\/Great-Gatsby-F-Scott-Fitzgerald\/dp\/0743273567\/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&amp;s=books&amp;qid=1290000714&amp;sr=1-1\" target=\"_blank\" style=\"font-family: Verdana, Geneva, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; text-decoration: underline\"><font color=\"#000000\" class=\"Apple-style-span\">Tom Buchanan from F. Scott Fitzgerald&#8217;s Great Gatsby<\/font><\/a><font color=\"#000000\" class=\"Apple-style-span\">: He&#8217;s the definition of a manipulator. I think that reading\u00a0<span style=\"font-weight: bold\">The Great Gatsby<\/span>\u00a0is the first time I yelled out loud &#8220;Ah!
