Chap Taylor to Adapt GIDEON\u2019S SWORD for Michael Bay<\/h1>\n

Earlier this year, we reported on the news that\u00a0<\/span>Paramount has optioned<\/a><\/span>\u00a0the upcoming Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child novel\u00a0<\/span>Gideon\u2019s Sword<\/strong><\/em><\/span>\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><\/span>for Michael Bay to produce through his Bay Films label.\u00a0 Now, screenwriter Chap Taylor (<\/span>Changing Lanes<\/em><\/strong><\/span>) has been hired to adapt the story for the screen.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>Gideon\u2019s Sword<\/em><\/span>\u00a0will be the first of a twelve-book series, with the first book due to hit stores in February.\u00a0 The series centers on \u201ca hero imbued with the ability to convince people of almost anything. The story involves the man trying to clear the name of his father, falsely imprisoned by the NSA, and possibly save the world at the same time.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span>According to\u00a0Heat Vision<\/a>, the aim of adapting the book series is supposedly to \u201ckick-start a Jason Bourne-style franchise that would give Bay an opportunity to show character work while delivering high-octane set pieces.\u201d\u00a0 The project marks Bay\u2019s second foray into adapting books for the big screen, following\u00a0his producing credit<\/a>\u00a0on James Frey\u2019s\u00a0I Am Number Four<\/em><\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n
