SOUTH KINGSTOWN<\/a>,\u00a0R.I.<\/a>\u00a0– A rare yellow lobster pulled from Rhode Island’s\u00a0Narragansett Bay<\/a>\u00a0– a one-in-30-million find – was found dead\u00a0Friday in its protective tank.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0University of Rhode Island<\/a>, which was keeping the crustacean, said it hadn’t eaten for several days and was “stressed to death” from too much attention.<\/p>\n

The yellow lobster was caught last month by lobsterman\u00a0Denny Ingram<\/a>.<\/p>\n

He temporarily made it available for display in the lobstermen’s co-op building at the State Pier in\u00a0Newport<\/a>. Ingram then gave the lobster to URI, which kept the lobster in a secluded protective tank.<\/p>\n
