Gordon told us the paintings, which went on display yesterday and are featured in Gordon&#8217;s new art book,\u00a0<em>Performing\/Guzzling<\/em>, were made with &#8220;acrylic paint, used to interfere. They&#8217;re very performative.&#8221; These works, which trumpet band names like &#8220;Talk Normal,&#8221; &#8220;Slow Listener,&#8221; and, a crowd favorite, &#8220;Afternoon Penis,&#8221; hung in the store&#8217;s small upstairs gallery surrounding attendees that included Gordon&#8217;s husband\u00a0<strong>Thurston Moore<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Chloe Sevigny<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Gang Gang Dance<\/strong>&#8216;s\u00a0<strong>Lizzi Bougatsos<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Terry Richardson<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Olivier Zahm<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>James Frey<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Bill Powers,<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>Andy Spade<\/strong>, (at whose\u00a0<strong>Partners &amp; Spade<\/strong>\u00a0Moore\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.papermag.com\/blogs\/2010\/04\/white_noise_and_8_year_olds.php\" target=\"_blank\" style=\"border-style: initial; border-color: initial; font-weight: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-size: 13px; font-family: inherit; vertical-align: baseline; color: #000099; text-decoration: underline; border-width: 0px; padding: 0px; margin: 0px\">will appear Sunday<\/a>\u00a0to lecture children 8-12 on white noise).
