At night, he moonlights as the publisher of\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ratpress.com\/\" title=\"http:\/\/www.ratpress.com\" target=\"_blank\" style=\"color: #000000; text-decoration: underline\">Rat Press<\/a>. &#8220;It&#8217;s a one-man operation,&#8221; he said. &#8220;I do everything, basically,&#8221; including editing books in his bedroom.<\/p>\n<p>Rat Press had its beginnings nearly a decade ago when Ratner published\u00a0<em>Naked Pictures of My Ex-Girlfriends<\/em>\u00a0by Mark Helfrich. Several years later he wrote a book of his own,\u00a0<em>Hillhaven Lodge: The Photo Booth Pictures<\/em>, with powerHouse Books. Ratner has now re-launched Rat Press, creating a new logo and signing on with Perseus Distribution. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Jim-Authors-Self-centered-Memoir-Great\/dp\/0981805639\/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&amp;s=books&amp;qid=1234778596&amp;sr=1-1\" title=\"click to buy at Amazon.com\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/bigjimindustries.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/brown.jpg\" align=\"right\" height=\"383\" width=\"250\" hspace=\"15\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a>The company aims to publish works &#8220;from the most prolific individuals in film&#8221; that consumers &#8220;never have the opportunity to see in a theater&#8221; and in a variety of formats. Titles will include biographies, interviews, novels, scripts, photos and artwork.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Brett is a passionate book lover, and he&#8217;s done a wonderful job of bringing the film and book industries together,&#8221; said Tyson Cornell, director of marketing and publicity at Book Soup in Los Angeles.
