Not that people aren\u2019t trying to cause mayhem.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.seriouseats.com\/images\/20080919-iscream.jpg\" border=\"0\" hspace=\"15\" width=\"450\" height=\"321\" \/><\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s just that the frequent visits ensure that vandalism is quickly removed, aided by automated tools that can recognize crude writing before it ever appears.<\/p>\n<p>Leave these high-traffic thoroughfares, however, and things can get a bit sketchier. A few wrong turns and you may find yourself deep in Hatfield-and-McCoy territory. Entrenched enemies engage in combat over\u00a0the wording of topics so obscure \u2014 Armenian historians from the first millennium, for example, or breakfast cereals \u2014 that you may wonder: so much fighting over this?<\/p>\n<p>But it is exactly the obscurity that makes these Wikipedia articles ripe for feuding, fighting and vandalism.
