He got to lock lips with the Oscar winner.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/images.eonline.com\/eol_images\/Entire_Site\/20080313\/425.penn.flava.031308.jpg\" alt=\"Sean Penn, Flava\" align=\"right\" border=\"0\" height=\"236\" hspace=\"15\" width=\"319\" \/>Martinez&#8217;s one-day shoot centered around a birthday party for Milk, in which Sylvester performs his 1978 hit, \u201cYou Make Me Feel (Mighty Real).\u201d Martinez did the scene dressed in a purple, blue and silver kimono with a matching turban and black bell-bottoms.<\/p>\n<p>Now back to that kiss.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll of a sudden, Sean\u2019s pointing at me, and he\u2019s talking to the assistant director,\u201d Martinez says. \u201cThe AD comes up to me and says, \u2018Just to let you know, you are now going to break up Sean and [costar] <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.eonline.com\/celebrities\/profile\/index.jsp?uuid=ae96a8ec-c5c1-412c-8bbd-3e195c2eeaaa\" class=\"name\" target=\"_blank\">James Franco<\/a><\/strong>\u2019s conversation. You\u2019re going to grab Sean, and Sean\u2019s going to be really excited, and he\u2019s going to kiss you.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p>And that he did. \u201cI\u2019m performing, and he comes onto the dance floor,\u201d Martinez explains. \u201cHe grabs me, and he just slaps the biggest kiss on me&#8230;It felt like the kiss was forever. I\u2019m like, Is he going to stop? I had to close my eyes. I couldn\u2019t believe it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><!-- image with text --> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/images.eonline.com\/eol_images\/Entire_Site\/20080125\/285.milk.harvey.012508.jpg\" alt=\"Harvey Milk\" align=\"left\" border=\"0\" height=\"206\" hspace=\"15\" width=\"285\" \/>Martinez, whose professional name is <strong>Flava<\/strong>, tried to convince Van Sant to do another take. \u201cI\u2019m thinking, We gotta do this thing again. We just didn\u2019t get it right,\u201d Martinez says. \u201cBut Gus was like, &#8216;It\u2019s perfect, perfect, perfect.&#8217; I said, &#8216;No! It\u2019s not perfect!&#8217; Sean was laughing at me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Milk (above) was the openly gay San Francisco city supervisor assassinated by fellow city supervisor <strong>Dan White<\/strong> in 1978.
