Pete Rose <\/a>was posthumously removed from Major League Baseball\u2019s permanently ineligible list Tuesday, making the all-time hits leader<\/a> eligible for induction into the National Baseball Hall of Fame<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cShoeless\u201d Joe Jackson<\/a>, banned after his participation in the 1919 Black Sox Scandal, also was reinstated in a sweeping decision by commissioner Rob Manfred that included other deceased players from the list. All are eligible for election to the Hall of Fame.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An MLB statement released Tuesday referred to it as a \u201cpolicy decision.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cCommissioner Manfred has concluded that MLB\u2019s policy shall be that permanent ineligibility ends upon the passing of the disciplined individual.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
