However, it\u2019s also a state where politicians have chosen to regulate oddly specific things, from laws allowing residents to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.texastribune.org\/2017\/09\/07\/new-law-allows-hunting-hogs-hot-air-balloons-few-balloonists-will-offe\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">hunt feral hogs from hot air balloons<\/a>\u00a0to laws\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.chron.com\/politics\/texas\/article\/In-Texas-even-possession-of-a-sex-toy-is-11161211.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">outlining the number of dildos<\/a>\u00a0a person can own.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Recently, Texas lawmakers have set their sights on something that has become ubiquitous in recent years: sex toys in retail stores. Perhaps unsurprisingly, they want them out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>A ban on sex toys in stores<\/strong>. Republican Rep. Hillary Hickland is behind the proposal to ban sex toys. Earlier this week, Hickland filed\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/capitol.texas.gov\/tlodocs\/89R\/billtext\/pdf\/HB01549I.pdf#navpanes=0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">HB 1549<\/a>, a bill that would ban retail stores such as Walmart, Target, and CVS from selling sex toys.
