After a long and tiring day at work, Mark headed to an East Hollywood movie theater that he called \u201calways a fun, chill\u201d time \u2014 and bought an eight-hour ticket.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At this cinema house, there were no movie posters touting \u201cBarbie,\u201d no IMAX screens, no buckets of buttery popcorn. This month\u2019s curated selections include \u201cTiny & Tight Size Queens 2\u201d and \u201cStepmom Seductions.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mark had come to the Tiki Theater: the last porn theater in Los Angeles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is a place that has outlasted more vaunted film houses such as\u00a0the ArcLight Hollywood<\/a>\u00a0and its historic\u00a0Cinerama Dome<\/a>, which shuttered during the COVID-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI just want to feel free here, watching something very primal,\u201d said Mark, 34, during a recent screening at the Tiki.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI think sex is beautiful, and I like sharing it with others \u2014 whether the energy is weird or not,\u201d said Mark, who described himself as \u201cgay with a side of bi\u201d and declined to share his last name because, well, he had come to watch porn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
