Rick Astley\u2019s \u201cNever Gonna Give You Up\u201d<\/a>\u00a0has perhaps the most famous music video ever, or at least the most famed of the internet era thanks to the famous bait-and-switch \u201cRickroll<\/a>\u201d prank. The gag, which involves sharing links that unexpectedly lead to the video, has led to the 1987 visual being one of\u00a0the most-viewed music videos<\/a>\u00a0in YouTube history. Simon West, the video\u2019s director, says that even he\u2019s been Rickrolled and he\u2019s not a fan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In an interview with Metro<\/a>, West \u2014 whose directorial credits also include movies like Con Air<\/em>, Lara Croft: Tomb Raider<\/em>, Black Hawk Down<\/em>, and The Expendables 2<\/em> \u2014 noted it\u2019s happened to him \u201cthree or four times.\u201d He said, \u201cPeople are sensitive to it [but] people who know me really well know that I\u2019m not gonna go ballistic. But when it happens, it\u2019s the worst thing! You think they\u2019re gonna send you a cool video about surfing or something and up it comes.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
