It may be hard to imagine \u2014\u00a0USC<\/a>\u00a0cardinal and gold and\u00a0UCLA<\/a>\u00a0blue and gold blending into the pageantry that permeates through frosty fall Saturdays in America\u2019s heartland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It may be hard to imagine \u2014 Trojans and Bruins annually competing with\u00a0Ohio State Buckeyes<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Michigan Wolverines<\/a>\u00a0for conference championships and bragging rights instead of\u00a0Oregon Ducks<\/a>\u00a0and Washington Huskies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But Thursday, when USC and UCLA officially announced\u00a0they are leaving the Pac-12 for the Big Ten Conference<\/a>, college sports fans from coast to coast were forced to conjure up a vision that what would have once \u2014 in simpler times, perhaps \u2014 seemed unthinkable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Trojans and Bruins, both of whom have been trying to reclaim past football glory with varying degrees of desperation, came together and completed a shocking move that will forever alter the national college sports landscape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
