The legendary sports commentator was ESPN\u2019s host of both the X Games and Winter X Games for 13 years, has covered both the Olympics and World Cup for NBC Sports, and served as both host and executive producer of VICELAND\u2019s docu-series&nbsp;<em>Vice World of Sports<\/em>. His voice and visage are inextricably linked with some of the most \u2014 if you\u2019ll pardon the expression \u2014 \u201choly shit\u201d sporting moments of the last quarter century.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The son of famed South African jazz musician Hugh Masekela (and an accomplished musician in his own right), Selema has also spent a significant portion of his life on the African continent and has of late been hard at work on\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/mamiwatasurf.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Afrocentric surf apparel brand Mami Wata<\/a>. The term \u201cMami Wata\u201d translates to \u201cMother Water\u201d (or \u201cMother Ocean\u201d) and serves as a powerful moniker to invoke the brand\u2019s celebration of African surf culture as well as their mission to create jobs, grow economies and support youth surf therapy organizations on the African continent.
