Jewel Samad\/AFP via Getty Images<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>West Coast night owls and East Coast early risers will have the best view of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/moon.nasa.gov\/news\/168\/an-almost-total-lunar-eclipse\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">upcoming lunar eclipse<\/a>\u00a0this Friday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Overnight, the moon will pass into the shadow of Earth cast by the sun, illuminating the gray orb with a red hue. It will be the second and final eclipse of the year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>NASA\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/eclipse.gsfc.nasa.gov\/LEcat5\/LE2001-2100.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">predicts<\/a>\u00a0the eclipse will last over 3 hours and 28 minutes.
