{"id":11389,"date":"2021-05-15T10:27:00","date_gmt":"2021-05-15T17:27:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/BigJimIndustries.com\/wordpress\/?p=11389"},"modified":"2021-05-23T10:35:37","modified_gmt":"2021-05-23T17:35:37","slug":"the-flynt-file","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bigjimindustries.com\/wordpress\/2021\/05\/15\/the-flynt-file\/","title":{"rendered":"The Flynt File"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vice.com\/en\/article\/m7evg4\/larry-flynt-fbi-file-hustler\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">from VICE<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u2018Fuck This Court\u2019: We Obtained Larry Flynt\u2019s FBI File and It\u2019s Pretty Wild<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p>The 322-page file contains a litany of events from John DeLorean\u2019s cocaine bust to an alleged effort by Flynt to blow himself up in front of the Supreme Court.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.vice.com\/en\/contributor\/irving-alpert\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Irving Alpert<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/video-images.vice.com\/_uncategorized\/1620870636172-screen-shot-2021-05-12-at-94953-pm.png?resize=800:*\" alt=\"Screen Shot 2021-05-12 at 9.49.53 PM.png\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>When Hustler magazine publisher Larry Flynt died on Feb. 10 at the age of 78, it signaled the end of an era where a misogynistic smut peddler could be viewed as a kind of antihero.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s hard to laud someone who built his empire by unabashedly treating women like pieces of meat, but as a First Amendment warrior, Flynt won important legal victories while sticking his thumb in the eye of the powers that be.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Over the decades, Flynt took on America\u2019s morality police or anyone he felt to be hypocritical on matters of sex, engaging in what the Washington Post once referred to as \u201cDirt Bag Journalism.\u201d This involved offering millions to anyone who could prove an extramarital affair with a high-ranking government official, such as in 1998, when he took down then-House speaker designate and staunch Clinton impeachment backer Bob Livingston. In 2017, Flynt offered $10 million for information leading to Donald Trump\u2019s impeachment and removal from office.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Many know Flynt best from the Oscar-winning 1996 Milos Forman film \u201cThe People vs. Larry Flynt,\u201d in which he was portrayed as a rakish rogue by Woody Harrelson.
