New government intelligence might prove alien life is, too.<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p>And let\u2019s face it, if they\u2019re coming, 2020 is the perfect year for them to arrive, since it has piled one unlikely event on top of another.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>by Glenn Harlan Reynolds<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-youtube wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-embed-aspect-4-3 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Trailer - The Day The Earth Stood Still (1951)\" width=\"1080\" height=\"810\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/51JoEE_znyI?feature=oembed\"  allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m not saying that it\u2019s aliens.&nbsp;But it\u2019s aliens.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That\u2019s the tagline of a<a href=\"https:\/\/www.madaboutmemes.com\/ancient-aliens\/meme-61.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">&nbsp;famous internet meme<\/a>&nbsp;based on Giorgio Tsoukalos\u2019 History channel show, \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.history.com\/shows\/ancient-aliens\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ancient Aliens<\/a>.\u201d But now it seems to be the official United States government line, too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Just this past week came the latest slow-roll disclosure about UFOs and aliens in&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2020\/07\/23\/us\/politics\/pentagon-ufo-harry-reid-navy.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The New York Times<\/a>, which, in the words of tech blog&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/gizmodo.com\/new-york-times-casually-drops-another-story-about-how-a-1844491014\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Gizmodo<\/a>, &#8220;casually drops&nbsp;another story about how aliens are probably real.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are even reports that the Pentagon has obtained vehicles or parts of vehicles&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/news.yahoo.com\/pentagon-off-world-vehicles-not-122800083.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">&#8220;not made on this Earth,&#8221;<\/a>&nbsp;though&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/SenatorReid\/status\/1286770010086494208\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">former Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid<\/a>&nbsp;was either misquoted confirming the story or walked back his comments to that effect later.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I\u2019m old enough to remember when speculation about UFOs was limited to the fringe and when respectable figures and publications wouldn\u2019t touch it.
