Queen & Slim star Daniel Kaluuya tells Sophie Goddard why filming one of 2020’s most impactful films left him dazed and confused…<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Daniel Kaluuya should be used to starring in huge blockbusters by now (he\u2019s already got\u00a0Widows<\/em>,\u00a0Black Panther<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Get Out<\/em>\u00a0under his belt) but his latest project,\u00a0Queen & Slim<\/em>\u00a0has left him somewhat unsteady. The film \u2013 directed by Melina Matsoukas and written by Lena Waithe \u2013 sees the Oscar-nominated star appear alongside Jodie Turner-Smith in a love story that\u2019s earned comparisons to\u00a0Bonnie & Clyde\u00a0<\/em>(more on that shortly). \u201cIt\u2019s very surreal,\u201d he says, when asked how the unanimous praise feels. \u201cIt starts off being your secret, but then everyone else is watching it.\u201d Here, he talks us through the\u00a0filming process<\/a>, and why he\u2019s still unsure what he makes of it all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
