Good. Forgot. How. Speak.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But as a social media battle has captivated the internet this week and generated long lines at Popeyes locations across the country, that tweet from last week now has the feel of an opening salvo. Things grew heated on Tuesday, when Chick-fil-A tweeted what appeared to be a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ChickfilA\/status\/1163469422486523904\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">coded response<\/a>&nbsp;to the Popeyes announcement, extolling the virtues of its \u201coriginal\u201d chicken sandwich.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Popeyes replied a few hours later:&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/PopeyesChicken\/status\/1163510538959069184?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1163510538959069184&amp;ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fthetakeout.com%2Fajax%2Finset%2Fiframe%3Fid%3Dtwitter-1163510538959069184%26autosize%3D1\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">\u201c&#8230;y\u2019all good?\u201d&nbsp;<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Soon, the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/thetakeout.com\/popeyes-wendys-chick-fil-a-chicken-sandwich-twitter-spa-1837404515\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">\u201cpassive-aggressive chicken sandwich debate,\u201d<\/a>&nbsp;as one news article put it, had escalated into a Twitter battle royal, as other fast-food companies started promoting their own sandwiches.
